My weekend walks posts were going to be a weekly thing, but in the end I only did one post. Whoops? But last weekend, Jack and I headed to Lincoln for a day trip and I took a few pictures that I thought I’d share with you.
Not the wordiest of posts, but I wanted to be able to share a few pictures somewhere and if I can’t share them on my blog, where can I?
Okay so before we got to Lincoln we stopped for breakfast at an OK Diner, but Jack has never been so it had to be done! This was just their breakfast sandwich and it was bloomin’ lovely.
I was fortunate enough to take a visit to Lincoln castle whilst the poppies were there as a memory for the first centenary of the First World War, and I was so thankful as I missed them when they were at the Tower of London. The day of the visit of the day after the 100 year anniversary of the start of The Battle of the Somme, and there were a lot of people on hand to give us plenty of information of the significance of the battle.
Jack and I love a castle and cathedral, and the fact that we could do that in one go was perfect. The castle was great to walk around (although unfortunately the Magna Carta wasn’t on display this particular day) and the cathedral was beautiful. But after this, we headed into town to eat and have a little shop before the drive home. I even got to sample my first ever macaron.
