Lip sets have definitely had their time this Christmas. Everyone has offered something this season, so there is something to suit every budget. One I struggled to get my hands on is the Too Faced Merry Kissmas set, and I totally understand why.
Too Faced lip products are pretty pricey, but at £22 for four minis, it was too good of an offer to pass up when I spotted them back in stock at Debenhams.
Too Faced have been killing it with their sets this year, but when I thought that it would fit my apparent theme of review all the lip products this blogmas. This set includes three of the Melted lipsticks and one of the Melted Matte lipsticks.
Chocolate Honey is part of the melted chocolate range, and is a medium brown with peach undertones and Chihuahua is a dusty mauve. Unfortunately, as you can see below my Melted Fig has separated which I’m really disappointed about. It’s supposed to be a purple toned pink, and you can view a proper swatch on Hannah’s post on the set (Hannah’s blog has been one of my favourites over the last couple of months). Lady Balls is the matte offering and the perfect red for this time of year with slight cool tones.
I’ve previously owned Melted Nude but it disappeared after a night out, never to be seen again. But because of this, I know the formula is dreamy. The original Melted line is lightweight on the lips, but unlike most liquid lipsticks, they don’t dry down matte. There are a lot of people out there who aren’t a fan of matte lips so these have got to be the choice for you if you are one of them. Imagine a traditional lipstick melted down and this is what you get. They last longer that a lot of conventional lipsticks, but obviously not as long as the matte version. Lady Balls is more moussey in formula and feels like a hybrid of the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams and the Kat Von D Liquid Lipsticks. This doesn’t seem to cling to dry patches and lasts all day.
Apart from my disappointment of the separated lipstick, this is a fantastic set (and I’ve not seen anybody else with this issue). It may or may not be available at the time this post goes live, because it seems to be a firm favourite with many makeup lovers. But if you can get your hands on them I wholeheartedly recommend it!
