Rediscovering Nudes

I have a new blog series! *Cue Applause* My makeup collection is getting a tiny bit out of hand, but because I’ve not been with my entire collection since December, I’ve given myself until September to rediscover old favourites before I have a clear out.

Every day to work last week, I wore a different nude lipstick to decide whether or not they’re worth keeping.

Rimmel Kate Moss 03 is the first lipstick I ever fell in love with, to the point where I bought a second when I thought I’d lost it (surprise, surprise I found it the same day I bought a new one). I’ve just not worn it recently because I prefer a much deeper brown tone lip to a pink. I’d actually forgotten how much I love the formula and I’m tempted to head to Boots for a swatch session to find my perfect shade.

KIKO Lipstick in 506 has the coolest packaging going. I love KIKO lipstick packaging! Unfortunately the lipstick has now broken but I don’t have the heart to throw it away, even though it’s quite a patchy lipstick. It just fades in a weird way so I feel like I need to get rid.

Clinique Nude Pop was a lipstick I got in Glamour magazine in December but never really used. December for me does not call for a pink nude lip. To be honest, this was a little bit of a disappointment when I used it because it just didn’t stay on my lips

Maybelline Color Sensational in Velvet Beige is such a beautiful colour, but it just doesn’t last like I want it to. Don’t get me wrong I think that Maybelline lipsticks have beautiful formulation but I love matte lipsticks so much that I forget that more glossy lipsticks fade.

Sleek Matte Me in Birthday Suit was the first ever liquid lipstick I bought, and at the time I loved it. However, now I’ve bought other liquid lipsticks and other matte lipsticks, I just feel like this is nowhere near as good. I mean for £5 you can’t complain too much but I do find it to crack easily and flake off after about 20 minutes. I don’t think it’s going to stop me buying the shade Vino Tinto, but I will think twice about wearing this shade again.

Basically, I’m not getting rid of any of these just yet but when I have my makeup sort in a couple of months, I wouldn’t be surprised if I ended up binning a couple or passing them on.

Either way, I’ve really enjoyed shopping my stash a little and can’t wait to do this with more products in my collection!
