Professional Cocktails at Home with Funkin Cocktails

I always do an internal squeal of joy when I’ve been wanting to try a product for ages and I get to try it out for blog purposes. This happened a few weeks ago when Funkin Cocktails got in touch and asked if I wanted to try a selection of their cocktail mixers*.

Funkin Cocktails supply the fruit mixers, you provide the spirits, and you get to make perfect cocktails at home!

Before you say ‘it’s just juice’, it isn’t. These cocktails are thick, fruity drinks that taste exactly like a cocktail you would order in a restaurant or at a bar. Each 1l carton makes 10 cocktails for you to share (or drink to yourself, you do you) and they are super easy to make.

I was sent a range of flavours, and in this post I’m going to show you cocktails using two of their brand new flavours Raspberry Mojito and Elderflower Collins, as well as their Hollywood mixer. But before I dive in, I’ve also sampled Brazilian, which when mixed with Vodka, tastes exactly like Pornstar Martini. Pornstar Martinis are on of my favourite cocktails so I was chuffed when this tasted identical to one you can buy in Revolution.

Hollywood Cooler
The first cocktail I made was the Hollywood Cooler – 100ml of the Hollywood Mixer with a measure of Whiskey (Jack Daniels was my choice in this instance). This is definitely a cocktail I’d recommend to people who like a sweet drink!

Funkin Slipper
My favourite of the three in the post was the Funkin Slipper. This required a measure of Tequila and 100ml of the Elderflower Collins mixer. This was incredibly tart and citrusy, but that was right up my street. I was surprised how much I enjoyed it since I’m not a huge tequila fan. But I can imagine that this mixer would taste amazing with gin!

Vodka Raspberry Mojito
I stay away from rum, so I’m not a mojito drinker. I always think how refreshing they’d taste in the summer but I just can’t hack rum. So I added 1 measure of Vodka to the Raspberry Mojito mix and it was lovely. This may have to be my summer drink of choice as the mint just gives it the kick that it needs.

The best thing about these mixers is that you can mix them to suit your taste. I bet these would be beautiful in the summer with a dash of lemonade, yet they also make the perfect treat when you put in a shot of your favourite spirit (although please drink responsibly).

I will definitely be using these mixers more, and I can’t wait to pretend to my friends that I’m a pro-cocktail maker when I present them with these beauties!
