On Tuesday I was lucky enough to attend a little event at Neal’s Yard Remedies in Leeds which can be found in the Victoria Quarter – one of my favourite places to window shop. Apart from a few family members trying their products, I’d never really been fully aware of the brand so it was such an interesting hour to get to learn about the origins of the company and its values.
Neal’s Yard Remedies was set up over 30 years ago as an apothecary-esque place, and still sticks to its values of using natural remedies to solve a whole host of problems. it’s since expanded and now uses natural ingredients to care for the same issues as always, and all of their products are sourced in the UK bar a few specialities (eg. their frankincense is all fairtrade from I was aware of NYR for its skincare, but did you know that they also sell hair care, bath goodies, super foods, essential oils, aromatherapy essentials? And they sell men’s skincare too!
At the event I was lucky enough to be the only person to show up at my time slot meaning that I got all the staff on hand to give me all the information I could ever ask for. Hand and arm massages were being given throughout the day, but since I was the only person I got to have a shitasu back and shoulder massage which I highly recommend – ask for Kiran! I was super relaxed and have also been told to stop hunching over a computer so much and work on my posture (whoops, maybe I should stop being a blogger). Other treatments that they offer include facials, reflexology and pregnancy massages amongst a whole host of others.
I would definitely recommend taking a trip into your local store to have a wander around and maybe get a treatment or two! Now I’m off to try out their White Tea Enriching Facial Mask and see if it lives up to the promise of moisturising my skin and getting rid of all those dry spots.
