Over the past couple of Christmases, one of my favourite things to do has been to read peoples What I Got For Christmas posts. I’ve uploaded these posts in the past (read my 2015 post here and my 2016 post here) and I’m doing the same this year. As always, this isn’t bragging, this is just me sharing what I got for Christmas this year. If you don’t like it then don’t bother reading it!
I was well and truly spoilt this year. I wasn’t expecting any of this but my friends and family went above and beyond (as always) and I was overwhelmed when I opened it all!
My parents are trying to get me to think about moving out but until Jack finished his masters, I’m sticking here. However, they managed to convince a lot of people to get me some homeware bits for Christmas this year. From one of my neighbours I was given a Reed Diffuser and a Oil Burner from M&S. From an old school friend I received these Yankee Candle Christmas Votives and my brother bought me the Yankee Candle Christmas Magic Medium Jar Candle. From a work colleague I was given this George London Christmas Cushion which I spotted a few weeks ago and fell in love with. This has been commandeered by my mum to leave in the lounge until we put away the Christmas decs in a few days! I was also given a Harry Potter Hanging Sign from my brother, a Bathroom Door Sign and 4 Gin Copa Glasses by my parents but all of these are going in the attic until I move out.
I think it’s become a well known fact amongst my friends and family that I love cocktails. Jack’s dad bought me the Savisto Boston Cocktail Set (containing the pictured shaker and cocktail party guide, as well as all the essentials for cocktails making), and Jack bought me the Cocktail Bauble Set which my Grandparents also bought me last year. This year has been the year for me and gin, so my mum and dad picked up some Gin Stones, the Drunken Berries Raspberry Gin Prosecco Mixer and a bag saying This Is My Gin Bag. I Mean Gym Bag. I mean, it’s fair enough really. I even went to a gin festival this year – me and gin and are best pals right now! One of my work colleagues also bought me a bottle of wine, which is always welcome in my house.
We all know that I love puzzles, and this Christmas I was given the Playbill Best of Broadway Jigsaw Puzzle. This has been on my Amazon wishlist for so long, and I half expected Jack to buy it for me. He passed the baton to his mum though and I was chuffed to open this on Christmas day. Sticking to the New York theme, my parents bought me this NYC Taxicabs Jigasaw Puzzle which I’m also very excited to complete! I’m not going anywhere on New Year’s Eve, but Jack and I always play a game. This year mum and dad bought me the 221B Baker Street Game which will definitely be coming out on NYE.
People don’t often buy me makeup for Christmas as they know I buy it myself through the year (or get sent things on occasion) so have no idea what I want. However, I gave my mum a long list this year so she treated my to a couple of bits on it. I love Urban Decay, so she bought me my favourite setting spray: the Urban Decay Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray (I’ve nearly used all mine up so this has come at a great time). She also completed my Urban Decay Naked Palette Collection by buying me the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette. She’s also going to be treating me to the Jo Malone Blackberry & Bay Cologne when she next goes to Spain. A friend bought me the Soap & Glory Soaper Heroes Set, Jack’s sister bought me the Soap & Glory Take Your Pink Set, and our family friends gifted me the Baylist & Harding Midnight Fig & Pomegranate Gift Set. The final set of smellies I got was the Lush Little Snow Fairy Set from my parents – I’m going to smell great in 2018!
As you can see, I was given so many bits and pieces this year. Other things include a ton of chocolate, stationery, new bedding, jewellery, my every day shower necessities and the cutest notebook reading The Ponderings of a Prosecco Confused Mind (never a truer word spoken). I’m so grateful for everything I received this Christmas and can’t even begin to imagine how I’m going to thank people!
