A few weeks ago, DenTek invited me alone to the Eat & Drink Festival at Olympia and I’m all about filling my face with all the food and drink at Christmas. This also included entry into the Ideal Home Christmas Show, and whilst this was going to be two posts worth of content, I’ve decided to put it into one bumper post for you. My London Olympia Christmas Festivals guide.
The Eat & Drink Festival brought together companies from all over the UK, celebrating the best of modern cuisine, mixology and street food. I could only attend on the Saturday, but this 5 day festival featured a whole host of familiar faces from the world of food and drink. Gino D’Acampo, Gregg Wallace and Candice Brown were the most ‘famous’ so to speak, but many other chefs were on hand to teach you all your needed to know to make your Christmas day run as smoothly as possible.
I learnt all about how to use up the Martini sitting in your cupboard with Fevertree (who helped sponsor the Gin Festival I attended recently), and even picked up their book at the Ideal Home Show later on in the day. I also discovered the best sandwich for your leftover turkey with Rachel Green, although I was dubious as it included leftover roasties. Who has leftover roast potatoes on Christmas Day? My plate might as well just be a plate of roast potatoes and pigs in blankets!
Whilst the Eat & Drink Festival was going on upstairs, downstairs was full of Christmas homey ideas. There was a wonderful choir when I was waltzing around the stalls, picking up a ton of inspiration for Christmas. I just wish I wasn’t feeling as rough as I was and it wasn’t so I could truly enjoy it! I wouldn’t recommend going at the weekend as I could barely move and wasn’t able to get to all of the stalls, but it’s worth a trip in the future to make yourself feel festive.
Thanks very much to DenTek for the complimentary ticket, I’m sure I’ll be back. Maybe when it’s not so busy as I felt very flustered by the time I left. I’d definitely recommend the Eat & Drink Festival, but the Ideal Home Show was just too busy on a Saturday for me!
