For the past three Christmases I’ve been a student. For two of those years, the entirety of December was a big party, and I spent most of December on crutches in the final year. However, being a working girl now I’ve been invited to drinks for Christmas, and I want to make myself look my best.
There are a few easy ways to make yourself Christmas party ready in a pinch, especially if it’s a quick rush job after work.
I go through stages with makeup about which products I’m obsessed with. Palettes, highlighters and mascaras are frequent regular purchases of mine, but recently I’ve been all about lipsticks. This Christmas, brands have been killing it with their lip set releases, and I’ve been lapping them up.
Today I’m reviewing the Stila Naturally Nude Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick Set which I picked up when Feel Unique had a stellar 20% off around a month ago (also available in Boots, so collect those points). I’d have been daft not to pick them up!
Another day, another blogmas post, and another review of something that I picked up in my November splurge. MAC always bring out some fantastic Christmas sets that are snatched up pretty quickly so I joined the buzz and picked up not one, but both, of the Nutcracker Sweet Pigment & Glitter Sets.
This year, the sets come in a drawer and is inspired by the Nutcracker Ballet – a Christmas classic! Coming in a Bronze and a Gold set and containing both glitters and pigments that are beautifully coloured for the festive season, I had to have them. I’ve also included a few dupes that I could find in my collection that you may already have too.
Lip taster sets are probably one of my favourite beauty products on the market. Last year in America I picked up one of Sephora’s Gimme Some Lip set and I loved it, and I was dying to try the Too Faced Merry Kissmas set (which was sadly sold out on the Debenham’s website at the time of ordering…but I’ve since got my hands on it – winner). Lip sets are the bomb!
As I mentioned in my Pay Day Haul in November, I picked up TheBalm Meet Matt(e) Hughes Mini Long-Lasting Liquid Lipstick Set from Feel Unique, and today I’m here to give you the low down on the set, and whether or not I think it makes a stellar Christmas gift for those lipstick lovers in your life (or even just yourself).
Some people wear the same scents all year through; others switch to something a little deeper in the winter with more floral scents being found about their persons through the warmer months. I switch it up each year, with this year I’ve been opting for the deeper scents, although they can be quite heavy for some people.
If you’re not convinced you can pull off something a little heavier, you might want to check out The Library Of Fragrance, and their vast array of colognes.
It’s the first day of Blogmas! I doubt most people reading this now saw my blogmas posts from last year, so if you want to check those out, you can find them here. As I really enjoyed doing them so I thought I’d jump back on it again this year. There’s a slight difference this year in that last year was more about my Christmas memories and wishlists, whereas this year it’s more about me reviewing products that I think could make a great Christmas and how to make you life a little easier this festive season. And this year I’m kicking it off with a review.
I’m a sucker for a gift set. They’re always such a steal! And whilst I’m not doing any traditional gift guides this season, I have a few product reviews coming up that I’ve saved just for Blogmas as I think they’ll make brilliant presents. And that’s how I’m kicking off blogmas – with a selection of gifts from Burt’s Bees.
