Just a quick post today, mainly because it is now 11pm the day before publishing and I need to be up at about 7:30 to go to the zoo in the morning. I just want to do a very brief post on the Blogger Tiki Party that was run by Kirsty at the weekend.
I have a full vlog on the day coming tomorrow but I just want to share a couple of photos and give my thanks to her in blog form.
The bar was perfect for the occasion and the barmen were particularly welcoming. We were able to make our own Pina Coladas if we so wished (perfect for national Pina Colada day), and the brands involved were super generous.
I won two raffle prizes (well, three but I let them redraw because I was struggling to carry things as it was), the prize for best pun and the goodie bags were insane. Not everything would fit in the initial one, which had a beautiful design on made especially for the event, so we ended up walking away with extras. Food, beauty, lifestyle, books – you name it, it was in there! I couldn’t believe how much there was (and I was thankful not to be getting the train home).
I am now in the middle of nowhere for a week with limited internet so I won’t be reviewing any of the products soon, but I can’t wait to get stuck in and try out all the new items. I may or may not have already eaten about half of the sweets with Jack, but sweets are sweets and sweets require eating!
As lovely as the day was, I was disappointed for Kirsty and the reasoning is summed up so beautifully in the post she wrote about the day. Please go over to that link and read it because it needs all the attention possible. I love the idea of putting on an event but I was seriously put off by Sunday’s disrespect, and I’m almost disappointed to call myself a blogger thanks to a select few.
Regardless of the ending, I had a great afternoon catching up with old friends and making new ones, and I can’t wait for Kirsty’s next event in October! I definitely think you need to try to get yourself on the guest list for it, because it’ll be fab!
