The Zoeva Cocoa Blend palette has been in my collection since October and yet I have hardly spoken about it on here. Why? I honestly don’t know.
This palette is probably Zoeva’s most raved about palettes, and it’s understandable why. It’s absolutely gorgeous! Even though it’s full of warm hues which I wouldn’t normally consider wearable, I don’t think there’s a shade that I haven’t used in here (extremely rare for me and a palette). And the quality of the shadows is incredible.
Think about it this way – it’s the quality of an Urban Decay Palette for half the price. I would quite happily never pick up my Naked 2 Palette in favour of this one just because I’m a cheapskate and this is only £15.50 instead of £38 (edit: it is now £18 but still a total bargain). But it’s not a dupe – the colouring is very different.
Yes, some of the shades you could quite happily find in a naked palette (specifically my two most used – Pure Ganache and Subtle Blend), but some of them wouldn’t have a place in one of Urban Decay’s coveted palettes. One of my favourite shade in the palette is Warm Notes (the pink one) which I never in a million years thought I’d say. It took me a good 4 months of owning the palette before I dipped my brush in there but it is truly beautiful.
My favourite makeup look by far is Sweeter End on the inner corner, Pure Ganache all over the lid, Subtle Blend through the crease and Warm Notes on the lower lash line. It may be unconventional to rock pink on the lower lash line but I’m really digging it at the moment.
I honestly could not recommend this palette highly enough as it’s wonderfully creamy and pigmented, and lasts all day. One thing I would just like to say is that the shimmers are a lot more pigmented than the mattes, but don’t worry about fallout because it doesn’t exist. It really is a great alternative to Urban Decay!
Now I’m off to browse Beauty Bay because I want all of the Zoeva palettes to add to my collection!
