My boyfriend and I are making it our aim this spring to get out more, and taking walks over the weekend is an easy way to do it. We live in Huddersfield City Centre, but it’s surprising how beautiful it is just beyond the ring road.
For our first walk, we wanted to stay local so we chose Greenhead Park. In my second year at uni this was basically my back garden and I spent a lot of time there last summer. I know it well and I still really enjoy wandering around when the weather is nice, just like it was last Sunday.
This was the first time that I took my new camera out and I have no idea how to use it but I’m learning (so please don’t shout at my poor photography).
One of my favourite parts of the park is the memorial. It’s beautifully peaceful up there and it’s a great place to think. I also love the duck pond. My old housemates and I used to go on a Sunday afternoon with whatever bread was left in the house each week and feed the ducks, and it was great fun!
We always said we’d go on the train as a joke, but unfortunately it wasn’t running when we went (and we hadn’t taken any cash with us). But I love the signs and how traditional they look, and I’m also surprised they haven’t been graffitied.
I can’t wait to explore more of Huddersfield in the next few months before I possibly have to leave in May. I also found some pretty great places in the park to take outfit posts so you never know, I may even upload an outfit post in the coming weeks!
