Urban Decay Quick Fix Hydra-Charged Complexion Prep Spray

Urban Decay Quick Fix | Essential Twenty

I don’t use primer sprays as a whole. Honestly they seem expensive for what they are, and up until recently I’m pretty sure only Smashbox sold one on the mass market. When Urban Decay relaunched all of their facial sprays, I noticed that I could try out a travel size of their Quick Fix Hydra-Charged Complexion Prep Spray (what a mouthful) before committing to a full size priming water.

The idea behind this particular spray is that it reduces the appearance of pores, brightens and smooths the skin and replaces moisture. This can be used through the day on top of makeup, or can be used as a light primer to wake up your skin. In fact, you can even use this to set your makeup or just as a general facial spray throughout the day to replenish moisture if that’s how you want to use it.

This is a scented product, which usually I don’t rate in facial sprays (remember how I like the Gerard Cosmetics Slay All Day Setting Spray but couldn’t hack the scent?) but this is slightly different. This has a very faint coconut scent which I’m really into at the moment, despite not liking actual coconuts. It makes me think of summer and the warm weather that is hopefully still to come – not that this week has been bad at all!

This doesn’t necessarily add the moisture that drier skin types may be looking for, but I personally tend to use a day cream for that anyway. Oilier skintypes will probably find this a little too hydrating and may want to go for something more mattifying. I sit somewhere in the middle and honestly, I don’t think I’ll be repurchasing Quick Fix. This isn’t a groundbreaking product and does the same thing that the new Rimmel Insta Fix & Go spray does but at an inflated price. I do love Urban Decay but the All Nighter Setting Spray is still one of my favourites from the brand and I’ll stick to other brands for primers.
