Something I think around 70% of bloggers strive for is the appearance of being ‘perfect’ on social media. They have to have a pinterest worthy house, a row of MAC lipstick neatly somewhere in the IKEA Alex drawers, and to have their white Olympus Pen E-PL7 slung loosely on their shoulder.
But I am far from perfect. This post is me.
I have red patches, spots, and awful blackheads which won’t budge from my nose. My eyelashes aren’t long or perfect, my nose is off centre and my chin is unnecessarily pointed (mainly when I smile). My hair gets greasy after one day, my face gets greasy after two hours and my bottom lip is darker than my top. But I’m okay with this.
I wanted to share this no makeup selfie with you to show that I’m not afraid to put myself out there without makeup on. Yes, I love beauty and my roots are in beauty blogging, but 6 days out of 7 I don’t wear makeup.
Don’t be afraid to show yourself bare from time to time, and give your skin a breather. I’m okay with my face, and you can learn to be okay with yours.
