A few weeks before I jet off to an exotic location – a rare occasion for me – I like to get my body in tip top condition. Many pamper sessions are had and I get myself into full summer mode. With just 4 weeks until I fly to Spain (not the most exotic, but at least the weather is good), I’m starting to think about which body products I’ll be using to get myself ready for a week of sun. Maybe I’m not beach body ready, but I will be summer body ready. This is accidentally a post all about how much I love The Body Shop, and I’m not even sorry.
I will start off with the sole item that isn’t from The Body Shop and that is the St Moriz Exfoliating Skin Primer*. I’m pretty lazy when it comes to physical exfoliants on both my face and body (I’m all about chemical exfoliants on my face at the moment – thank you Pixi), but I’ve been loving this as an every day scrub. Designed as a fake take scrub, I find this is gentle enough to let a tan fade evenly as well as making my body look less flaky (gross) for all the time I’ll be spending on the beach in a few weeks time. Summer body, come at me!
Last year I attended the launch of the Pinita Colada range at The Body Shop, and it has to be one of my favourite collections that TBS have ever brought out. Being the poor graduate that I was, I couldn’t afford to purchase the collection and was super sad that I was without it. Fortunately for me, but not so much for my bank account, the Pinita Colada range has been rereleased this year and I’ve bought everything in the range. My personal favourites for summer are the Pinita Colada Fresh Body Sorbet to keep my body well moisturised, without the heaviness of a c ream, and the Pinita Colada Shower Gel which smells divine. Up until recently I’d been using The Body Shop Spiced Apple Shower Gel but have switched it out for its pineapple scented sister for the warmer months. I’m actually really sad these don’t come in travel sizes so I can’t take them on holiday with me!
The only foot cream that has ever worked for me is The Body Shop Peppermint Intensive Food Rescue, and I’ve written about how much I love it in the past. After 15 years of beating my feet with endless ballet lessons, they need all the TLC they can get and this foot cream definitely does the job. Now I have beach ready feet to go along with my summer body. Plus, it lasts forever so I definitely don’t mind spending that little bit more than just the cheap foot cream you get in the likes of Body Care!
There are so many more things that I need do to do my body to make it summer ready – the dreaded leg shave is at the top of my list – but these products are a great starting point to get a summer body!
