It doesn’t seem five minutes since I wrote my winter favourites, but here I am with my spring favourites. 2017 is flying! I’ve been trying out so many new products this month that I could easily just call this my May favourites, but some of these have been favourites since March so that would be a little unfair on them.
Stila well and truly has my heart at the moment. Over Christmas I fell in love with their liquid lipsticks, and at the back end of winter I adored their HUGE Extreme Lash mascara. Now I’m still in love with them both, and my first favourite is another liquid lipstick that I just happened to get in the same set as the mascara during the sales (if you’ve not read my Boxing Day Sale Haul post then where have you been? Although you may need a cuppa – or a glass of vino – as it’s a long one). The Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Dolce is the perfect terracotta nude. For me, this was the ideal transition from my usual brown toned nudes in winter, to my more pinky nudes for summer. It was a real winner! Whilst this lipstick isn’t as long wearing as many of Stila’s other liquid lipsticks, it leaves behind a faint glitter layer – not as uncomfortable as it sounds – giving your lips an always lusted after 3D appearance. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I need more of these liquid lipsticks in my collection (and they’ll probably always make my favourites posts).
Another makeup favourite is the Tarte Tartelette Amazonian Clay Matte Palette, and specifically the shade Wanderer. This has been my go to shadow to use as a transition shade through my crease. I’ve not been using a lot of eyeshadow recently but when I have, this has been my go to palette, along with the Nars Duo in Isolde. I’ve been so impressed with this palette that I’ve since bought the Tarte Tartelette 2 In Bloom Palette from QVC!
My spring favourites only includes one hair product, and this was the Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Reconstructor Deep Treatment. I sort of forgot to give my hair the TLC it so desperately needed at the start of Spring, but recently I’ve been using a hair mask on a weekly basis and I’ve mainly been reaching for this Aussie mask. I borrowed this from a friend when I was at uni and loved it then, but I now have my own bottle and I’m so chuffed to have it back in my life!
I don’t want to say too much about the Pixi Glow Mud Cleanser right now as I will have a full review coming up in the next month or so, but this has done wonders for my skin over the last 4 weeks. I know that seems quite premature, to be raving about a skincare product this early on, but it’s become a must in my evening skincare routine (I wrote that post back in April and got bored of the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish before it even went live. I swapped it out for Pixi, sorry not sorry). My skin feels cleaner, smoother and brighter and I’m putting it down to this! As I say, I will have a full review shortly but since it’s been sitting in my stash since I got it for Christmas, I had to say something about it now. This is a definite spring favourite, and I will be using it all up in the summer!
My other skincare favourite has been the Rodial Super Acids X-Treme Acid Rush Peel Mask. This is a mask that contains a whole host of acids to refresh your skin, which as you can probably tell I’m relaly into at the moment. This was a product that was in the M&S Advent Calendar so was a bargain for me, but the full size is more money than I care to state. Maybe I’ll repurchase if I have an unexpected lottery win!
The final beauty fave from the past season is actually a tool – the Blank Canvas Cosmetics F20 Brush. This is my go-to brush for foundation application which I’ve spoken about before, and I just had to buy a new one as I love it so much. Around the £12 mark, it’s a little pricier than your average drugstore brush but it’s well worth the money! This brush aids in leaving a airbrushed finish to the skin and I’m obsessed.
Can you believe we’re almost half way through the year? Just two more seasonal favourites to go (one in September and one in December) before we’re into 2018 – terrifying! Which products have you been loving recently, and which have been your standout spring favourites?
