Sanctuary Spa Foaming Micellar Water

I love a good micellar water. It’s not my be-all-and-end-all cleanser, but I love using them to remove the majority of my makeup before I complete a full cleanse with a more substantial product. In the Sanctuary Spa Advent Calender came the Sanctuary Spa Foaming Micellar Water and I was particularly intrigued as I’ve never tried one that foams before, or one that comes from a pump for that matter. When I finished up my last bottle of micellar water (a Clarins one if you’re interested, nothing to write home about), I decided it was time to give this a whirl.

When you’re used to what is essentially water on your face, foam is a little weird. It’s also pretty uncomfortable in your eyes. So first things first, I wouldn’t recommend this going too close to your eyes when it’s still in foam form. This particular micellar water does a pretty decent job of removing eye makeup, even most waterproof makeup, once the foam has reduced down but it feel like a waste of the novelty if the foam isn’t there.

It’s much nicer on my face as opposed to in my eyes, and it does a decent job at removing makeup. Of course I wouldn’t want it to be my only cleanse (it’s not that good), but it works well enough. I’m not sure the foam actually adds anything to the product – I’m sure the liquid alone would remove makeup in the same way – but it’s different to most of the products on the market, and to stand out from the crowd you need to have the USP nowadays.

Is it worth £8 for 200ml? No, not when I can get a 750ml bottle of Garnier Micellar Water which works miracles for less than that. But I’m definitely interested to try more foaming cleansers in the future. I mean, I’ve got my eye on the Soap & Glory one already! Maybe keep an eye out because a review of that could be coming your way very soon. But in terms of Sanctuary, I’m excited to try more of their skincare after dipping by toe in the water with this. Their body care is a winner for me, and I can’t wait to try more of their skincare products.

    • It’s definitely worth a shot! It’s interesting to try x

  • I used Bifesta and Simple micellar waters and they performed pretty much the same in terms of makeup removal; however, I do wanna up my skincare game, so I’m thinking of giving the Garnier one a shot!

    • I do quite like the Simple one, but the Garnier one definitely trumps it! x
