Rediscovering Blushes

After the success of my Rediscovering Nudes post last week (most ever likes on a post, yes lads), I decided to do the same with blushes I don’t get enough use out of.

This post is another 5 days of underloved makeup – blush edition.

Flirt! Peek-A-Blush in Pinksickle is such an old blush. This was a Kohl’s brand which my aunt in America bought for me years ago and I loved this when I got it. Even though I’ve had it for ages, the powder is still as new (not lumpy like some powders get) but as I’ve got more into makeup I just don’t think the pigmentation is where I want it to be. But as it’s discontinued I feel bad about getting rid, so I’m going to try to use it more often.

Collection Gorgeous Glow in Blush is a very shimmery blush, almost to the point of it being a highlight. And that’s why I don’t reach for it too often. I have a lot of highlighters that I prefer over a pinky shade, but if you like a really shimmery, pink highlight then this is for you.

W7 Honey Queen Blusher is a blush I read a review on in my early blog days (and by early blog days I mean my old blog, not this one) and after a few months I bought it for a bargain on Amazon. There was a point almost two years ago where I exclusively wore this blush but I just don’t feel like the colour pay off is there for me most of the time.

Bourjois Little Round Pot Blush in Jasper Rose is a blush that Tanya Burr put in a favourites video a couple of years ago and I just had to have it. And then I didn’t love it after a week. To be fair, this is probably my most worn shimmer blush other than a Soap & Glory one and Nars one that I own, but I really don’t grab for it. The colour is absolutely beautiful but I just do not like the scent. I feel like I need to use it a little more often, but that smell though.

Makeup Revolution in Love was bought not too long ago and I featured it in this post. This is a beautifully pigmented matte blush, but there is so much fall out. It’s hard for me to get it positioned well on my cheeks, but I’m determined to make it work because I love the colour.

I like a matte blush, and this is why most of these are shimmery. I just don’t reach for shimmers as often so most of least worn blushers tend to be more shimmery. Thankfully, none of these have huge chunks of glitter in them so it’s not like I’ll never wear them. Basically, I need to use more of my blushes!

Woah, the Makeup Revolution one is so pigmented compared to the rest! The Collection one is very pretty, I’m really into peachy gold tones at the minute so I’ll have to check this one out : )

    • I have a couple of the Makeup Revolution ones and they are insanely pigmented and only £1 each! I think I’m going to pick more up and try to find the perfect colour for me x

  • Blusher is becoming my new favourite makeup item at the moment, it just looks absolutely beautiful for summer. Funnily enough I actually went out and bought one of the blushes from makeup revolution yesterday and I love it already, although I’ve never tried any of the others mentioned. I love the look of the W7 one though; I’ll have to give it a go <3 Beautiful post 🙂

    • It’s about £3 on amazon – definitely worth picking up if you’re looking to expand your collection. Blush is something I wear all year but it’s definitely a great addition to your summer routine. I just need to persuade myself to use cream products next haha x

  • I love the makeup revolution one!

  • The Bourjois one looks really pretty. I’m not really a fan of blush, but I like ones that have a bit of glow to them. I feel like they really brighten up my face. 🙂

    • This is the only Bourjois one I have but from swatches I’ve seen of other ones they’re all more glory than full of pink pigment. Worth a look if you’re into that sort of look x

  • chocandlipstick

I love the look of these swatches!

  • I love the look of the Bourjois one! I’m awful at using blushes, I didn’t get on with the MUR ones at all!
