Powder Declutter, Summer 2017

Setting Powder Declutter | Essential Twenty

It’s Sunday which means I’ve got another declutter post for you. Today is all about my setting powders, of which I don’t have a ton of anyway. Yesterday I briefly mentioned my favourite from Rimmel and the latest one I’ve been playing around with, but up until this declutter I had three in my stash which I literally never touch and it’s time to say cheerio (you may be able to see that setting powder isn’t my fave from the small amount I have).

Last summer, banana powder was all the rage. I stupidly didn’t look into the trend that much but decided I had to have a banana powder. I didn’t want to spend a lot of money so the W7 Banana Dreams powder was just right for me…except it wasn’t. I really enjoyed the consistency of the powder but since I am fairly fair in tone, it was just too dark. Through the day the powder started to oxidise and did nothing to bright my undereyes.

After really liking the W7  powder but knowing it was the wrong shade, my next step was do actually do research into colouring. A translucent powder was obviously my best bet for my undereyes so I picked up the NYX  HD Studio Finishing Powder. Ihated it. It was white on my face, not translucent, and it made my undereyes look crepey. This was a big miss and I can’t believe I haven’t binned it before now. Definitely a no-no for me.

The final setting powder I’m saying au revoir to is the Benefit The Porefessional Agent Zero Shine as this was another powder that was just too dark for me. The packaging also doesn’t work for me as there is no lip around the sifter and way too much product comes out. I actually don’t rate many of the porefessional products other than the Matte Rescue; it’s obviously just not meant for my skin type!

Of course there are powders that I love, but these were all no good for me. Which powders do you love? I’m still hunting for my perfect one!
