On Monday, I nipped into town before work to pick up my £1 Meal Deal from Boots, thanks to O2, and also thought I should restock on my Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in Transparent. Naturally, this lead to a few more purchases and a cheeky trip to Superdrug too, so I thought it’d be nice to write a post detailing what I bought. Yes, a little drugstore haul ensued!
I love makeup, and I love travelling. So today, I’d like to talk about what I take in my travel makeup bag. I do a lot of travelling to and from university, and to my boyfriend’s out of term time, so I usually have a weekend makeup bag to carry about. It changes season to season, but this is wedding season, and this is what I took on the last weekend of July when I headed to my boyfriend’s aunt’s wedding.
As this travel bag was for a wedding, I took more choices that usual. Normally I wouldn’t take a full eyeshadow palette or liquid liner, but I needed to get glammed up. I usually take a second blush or bronzer with me, but I didn’t this time. This is because I’d worked out the look I was going to wear for the wedding prior to getting on the train up to Lancashire, and knew I could use these to make a more subtle, every day look for the other days I’m there.
I’ve been wearing perfume since an early age, and for that, I blame my mother. I’ve been wearing it for probably close to 12 years. I can’t be certain exactly when I started but I was definitely still in primary school. Of course I wore body spray in the early days such as ‘Impulse’, ‘Charlie’ and ‘So…’, but I also got into perfume quite early in life. Because of this, I feel totally naked if I’m not wearing a spritz or two of fragrance.
Just a quick disclaimer before I start – I can’t describe smells for the life of me. This isn’t a review of the perfumes I used to wear or wear now, this is simply a list of the perfumes I have worn through the last decade and a bit, and how it has changed.
I’m jetting off to America in less than four weeks for almost three weeks of being the ultimate tourist. Sort of. It’s our final family holiday apparently, so with my parents and my younger brother, I’ll be visiting Denver, Monument Valley, the Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Houston, Galveston, and Dallas, all in the space of 20 days. It’s going to be tight but all I’m worried about at the minute is the amount of shopping I’m going to be able to fit in. I’ve compiled my wish list for this trip, and although I know I’m not going to be able to afford everything on this list, a girl can dream.
You may notice that a good proportion of these products can be bought in the UK but I’ve got loads of makeup to see me through until I get to America. I’m very much a fan of saving money, especially on high end products, hence why I’ve been waiting until America to buy these (this has been a trip in the making for about 18 months).
