Let’s admit it, we all have habits that we should really break. Most of mine are beauty related and today I thought I’d share my bad habits with you. Most of it comes from laziness, other bits from forgetfulness, and some things are just a 20 year old habit which I can’t seem to kick.
Hoarding Makeup I’m the worst at throwing makeup away. I’ve paid good money for this and I don’t care if I have 7 of the same shade of lipstick, I’m keeping them all.
Biting My Nails Biting my nails is something I have always done. I go through stages where I grow them but then they just break and I can’t be bothered with the upkeep. Please, please, please can somebody recommend me a way that actually works for stopping nail biting!
Forgetting To Take My Makeup Off This is another laziness thing. Most days, I’m really good at taking off my makeup and being a ‘good’ beauty blogger, but other days (especially bad days where I’ve come home and climbed straight into bed) I’m just far too lazy. It’s not even like I have far to go to get something to remove my makeup and the drawers I store everything in is to the side of the bed, I’m just a really lazy person. Even if I do take it off, I’m pretty bad at using a proper cleanser and just use micellar water even though I know it’s not as good.
Not Exfoliating My Lips I don’t feel like I can be blamed too much for this, as I have tried to like the Lush Lip Scrubs for the longest time, but they taste too much like pure sugar and I end up just licking it all off. Everytime I’ve bought a little pot, I’ve ended up gifting it to a friend a few weeks later because it’s just getting wasted. I’ve been looking at other lip scrubs, and I might have to buy one from The Body Shop as I’m sure I won’t end up licking it off.
Not Cleaning My Brushes Often Enough I’m so lazy with my brushes, and although I try to wash them regularly, I have somewhere around the 50 or 60 mark to clean and it’s just so hard! To be honest, I’m not sure how often you’re supposed to clean them (I know most people do it every week but I’ve heard once a month is fine, and there are people out there who do it twice a week), but as I wrote in my review of the Real Techniques Core Collection, I’m so lazy that I bought another set so I didn’t have to clean them as often. I quite often use a brush cleanser, but I know it isn’t as good as shampoo, and it makes my brushes feel weird and smell funny.
Forgetting To Apply SPF Sure, most of my facial moisturiser has SPF in it, as do a couple of my foundations, but I don’t apply SPF enough in general. Especially on my body. When I was on holiday, my uncle practically choked us in aerosol sun cream but if it wasn’t for him, I’d have probably forgot.
Being Too Lazy To Moisturise My Body Another lazy issue. I always remember to moisturise my face when I get out of the shower, but my body gets pushed to the side. Sorry scaly legs, you’re staying snakelike for now.
