This year, I have a bucket list to follow. Every year I never fulfill my Christmas wishes, so I feel like I will be more likely manage all of these wishes if I write them down.
Maybe I’ll review this in my final post of blogmas.
I thought that by the age of 21 I would not longer get excited by the prospect of opening a paper door to find a tiny piece of chocolate behind it, but I still do. And my mum still buys them for me (hides face).
Although this year I’ve gone a couple of steps further and am the proud owner of three advent calendars.
How is it December? How has the year flown this fast? It seems like yesterday I was in America yet that was three months ago! But I’m excited because December is my favourite month and I have lots of exciting things planned – including Blogmas! Yes, I am taking part in Blogmas this month so you can check back here every morning at 8am GMT for a new festive themed post. In fact, this is the only post until after Christmas that won’t have a festive spin.
My favourites this month are few and far between, especially since I’ve been rocking the same makeup look for the last couple of months. In a way, you can think of this as an extension of last month’s favourites. However, I have a few goodies that I want to share with you that I’ve been loving this month. And most aren’t makeup for a change!
Growing up, I was an avid reader. I would easily get through a minimum of one book per week, but that all changed when I started my A Levels. I’ve had almost five years of not reading, and I hate it. I just don’t have the time though! But when I was on holiday, I knew this was my chance to read.
Unfortunately, I get travel sick so I couldn’t read in the car and was too knackered whenever we got to where we were staying to stay up and read. However, a couple of weeks ago I finally finished the book I started on holiday, and that was Gone Girl. I’m not going to say I’m great at articulating my views on a book, but I am going to tell you my final reaction.
Due to the awful weather recently, photography just isn’t happening for me right now. However, I wasn’t going to let that stop me from posting.
Today I want to talk about some of my favourite blogs out there right now. If you want to view any of these blogs, just click on a header and it’ll take you right there (although if you’re not following these lovelies already you’re doing something wrong).
Let’s admit it, we all have habits that we should really break. Most of mine are beauty related and today I thought I’d share my bad habits with you. Most of it comes from laziness, other bits from forgetfulness, and some things are just a 20 year old habit which I can’t seem to kick.
Hoarding Makeup I’m the worst at throwing makeup away. I’ve paid good money for this and I don’t care if I have 7 of the same shade of lipstick, I’m keeping them all.
Biting My Nails Biting my nails is something I have always done. I go through stages where I grow them but then they just break and I can’t be bothered with the upkeep. Please, please, please can somebody recommend me a way that actually works for stopping nail biting!
Forgetting To Take My Makeup Off This is another laziness thing. Most days, I’m really good at taking off my makeup and being a ‘good’ beauty blogger, but other days (especially bad days where I’ve come home and climbed straight into bed) I’m just far too lazy. It’s not even like I have far to go to get something to remove my makeup and the drawers I store everything in is to the side of the bed, I’m just a really lazy person. Even if I do take it off, I’m pretty bad at using a proper cleanser and just use micellar water even though I know it’s not as good.
Not Exfoliating My Lips I don’t feel like I can be blamed too much for this, as I have tried to like the Lush Lip Scrubs for the longest time, but they taste too much like pure sugar and I end up just licking it all off. Everytime I’ve bought a little pot, I’ve ended up gifting it to a friend a few weeks later because it’s just getting wasted. I’ve been looking at other lip scrubs, and I might have to buy one from The Body Shop as I’m sure I won’t end up licking it off.
Not Cleaning My Brushes Often Enough I’m so lazy with my brushes, and although I try to wash them regularly, I have somewhere around the 50 or 60 mark to clean and it’s just so hard! To be honest, I’m not sure how often you’re supposed to clean them (I know most people do it every week but I’ve heard once a month is fine, and there are people out there who do it twice a week), but as I wrote in my review of the Real Techniques Core Collection, I’m so lazy that I bought another set so I didn’t have to clean them as often. I quite often use a brush cleanser, but I know it isn’t as good as shampoo, and it makes my brushes feel weird and smell funny.
Forgetting To Apply SPF Sure, most of my facial moisturiser has SPF in it, as do a couple of my foundations, but I don’t apply SPF enough in general. Especially on my body. When I was on holiday, my uncle practically choked us in aerosol sun cream but if it wasn’t for him, I’d have probably forgot.
Being Too Lazy To Moisturise My Body Another lazy issue. I always remember to moisturise my face when I get out of the shower, but my body gets pushed to the side. Sorry scaly legs, you’re staying snakelike for now.
I have a lot of bad beauty habits, I’m sorry! What are you worst habits? Spill your dirty secrets below.
