It’s officially 2017! Just two more days until most of us at back to work so I hope that you’re making the most of these last couple of days (and if you work in retails or the food business, I apologise). I had a pretty great 2016 after graduating, getting a job and really beginning to grow my blog which is really exciting, but I’m determined to make 2017 even better!
And talking about growing my blog, what sort of blogger would I be if I didn’t set a few targets for the year? This post is all about my targets in my personal and blogging life, which hopefully I can fulfil this year. Before anybody asks, this New Year’s Resolution sheet was in the most recent Box of Lame, and if you love it go support That Lame Company by picking up some of their other wonderful pieces.
Blogging wise, I hope I can continue with my posting schedule and never miss a post. In case you missed the little announcement, I’m changing it from every Tuesday, Friday and Sunday to every other day.
I keep saying that I’m going to get back into instagram, but I have no idea for photographs. I know that a theme works but it’s so difficult! However, at some point in the first third of the year I’m determined to get back into instagram. Just not in January.
Onto my personal life, and I have a few other targets here. Whilst I’m way too tired to go to the gym, I need to get back into eating healthily and exercising more. I’m going to start walking more in my free time, and picking the healthier food choices (and if that means eating less then so be it). After my appendectomy, I gave up on all of that despite being really into it at the start of last year. Time to give it another go!
I really need to start spending less and saving more (you’ll see in the boxing day sale post I have coming up this month that I basically spent all of my wages in a 48 hour window, which was not okay). This year I would love to go on a city break somewhere in Europe, I’m looking at buying the 45mm lens for my Olympus Pen before Easter, and I also want to go self hosted on my blog. If I keep spending money on makeup I can’t do any of that so I need to start saving!
This year is the year I want to get back into reading. I used to love reading when I was at school, and really enjoy it when I get into it but I just never do it. This year I want to read 52 books, and I have a ‘To Be Read in 2017’ post coming up very soon. I spend 10 hours on buses a week, so I might as well use this time to read! Also, if you have any recommendations for me then I’m all ears.
Something I need to be a lot better at is keeping my life organised. Each month I want to set a goal about sections of my life to clear out and organise, with January being the month of wardrobe organisation. I have so many unworn clothes taking up space that I don’t have, and eventually I want to reduce all of my clothes so that they fit in my wardrobe and one chest of drawers. This way my second chest of drawers can be for blogging bits which will clear floor space, so win-win!
I love to cook. Like, I really love to cook (and buy an awful lot of cookbooks), but I never really experiment that much with food. I need to be more creative with food and up my baking skills this year, because I know that I love it and it’s something that truly makes me happy.
There are a few other goals I’ve got but they’re a bit boring and I’m also coughing up my guts and want to go back to bed.
Have a wonderful 2017 and I can’t wait to see what it will bring!
