It’s been just over 2 years since I picked up my first high end eyeshadow palette. Since then I’ve added a lot to my collection but I think I hit my high end peak when I bought the Nars Isolde Eyeshadow Duo over Christmas.
This eyeshadow duo is £25 for two shadows, which is pretty expensive if you divided it into single shadows. But I was smitten from the second I saw it on Zoella’s blog a few years back. A frosted ginger and a shimmering copper shade, aka my go-to autumn and winter shades, I knew I had to have it in my collection and boy am I glad I picked this up.
The packaging is sleek and feels luxurious to hold, but that’s not where the luxury ends. The product is smooth and buttery, not chalky, and blends out evenly with no issue of patchiness. Both shades have the right amount of shimmer and the perfect pigmentation. Not too much that they look ridiculous, but they definitely don’t need the addition of something like MAC Fix+ to make them workable.
The ginger shade reminds me of MAC Amber Lights, which is possibly one of my favourite eyeshadows ever, but the Nars Isolde duo is much easier to travel with than my MAC Warm Neutrals palette. I find myself reaching for this far more often than my MAC palette, simply due to the size difference. The copper shade is like no other in my collection, although I’ve seen it compared to MAC Bronze which is a shade I’ve had my eye on for a little while.
Nars Isolde is basically the bomb. Whilst these may not be the perfect shades for the upcoming warmer months, it’s going to be a firm favourite when Autumn rolls around again. I truly am in love with this duo, and I’m definitely concerned about how much money I could end up spending on Nars duos now that I’ve dipped my toe in the water. The Kalahari duo looks to be the subtle shadow shades that I’ve been looking to add to my collection for a while, and it’s going to have to be my next Nars purchase for sure!
