It’s been less than a year since I bought my first MAC lipstick, and whilst I adore the formula, the price is a little much for me to justify buying one on the regs. However, I’ve built up a little collection and I thought it’d be nice to share with you which ones I have in my lipstick stash.
Some of these I definitely wear more than others, but there’s something about them all being lined up next to each other than makes it hard to get rid of the one that I virtually never wear.
Funnily enough, the order of the swatches below is the order I wear them most to least. I won Whirl (matte) in a giveaway run by Jordan where I got to choose a MAC lipstick of my choice. After seeing endless swatches of it online, I knew that I had to have it (give me all the brown lipsticks)!
My first ever MAC lipstick was everyone’s favourite Velvet Teddy (matte) which is a beautiful brown-pink nude. This is an easier lipstick to wear than Whirl, but sometimes is a little too light for me. This tends to be my go-to lipstick when I know I’ll be out all day but will be too lazy to top it up.
Fast Play (amplified creme) was one I bought after spotting Lily talk about it at the back end of last year. As soon as I saw her post on it I knew I needed it. It’s a pretty hydrating formula but isn’t the longest lasting unfortunately, but I am the queen of matte lipsticks so this will always be an issue I have with lipsticks with a creamier finish.
Brick-O-La (amplified creme) is one of my favourite red lipsticks. This is a more berry tone red which makes it very easy to wear on a daily basis and doesn’t require too much precision in application. It’s got an identical formula to Fast Play so has identical longevity, but is a little more out there than the former.
Diva (matte) is my most recent acquisition. My parents usually get me and my brother a bottle of vodka each at duty free when then go on holiday, but I don’t drink it that often now (and if I do, it tends to be wine) so I requested MAC Diva. I love the Maybelline Color Sensational Matte Lipstick in Divine Wine and that is supposed to be a dupe for this, but I find it to be very drying. With this having the classic MAC matte formula, I know this will be a little more comfortable. I haven’t actually worn this yet, but as soon as autumn rolls around I know this will be straight on my lips!
Rebel (satin) was an impulse buy which I managed to pick up for £9! NINE POUNDS! This was on a secret sale site so I had to grab it whilst I could, but it’s not quite right for my complexion unfortunately. It’s just a little too pink for me, but I’m going to try to make it work this autumn. I’m determined.
