When I posted about my minimal skincare collection last week, I thought it would be fun to discuss the makeup I wore during the same time period (if you need the full deets on why I only had a small collection for a week or two you can read it on that post).
I cut my makeup stash down to one of everything (including lip colour – I don’t know how) for a week and these were the prodcuts that I chose to see me through.
These are not necessarily my favourite products, but more easy products for me to use because I was lazy when I was packing.
Since my post on the Nivea Men Post Shave Balm, I have been using it every single day. I still haven’t made my mind up whether or not it increases the longevity of my makeup but it feels nice on my skin prior to makeup application. I obviously had to stick with my three favourite base products, being the L’Oreal Infallible Matte Foundation, the Maybelline Eraser Eye Concealer, and the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder, as well as the W7 Banana Dreams Loose Powder. You’ll have heard me rave about the first three products, but I bought the W7 powder for £3 to see if it worked as an alternative to the coveted Ben Nye Banana Powder. I’ve adored setting my under eye area with this recently, and I’d be tempted to buy the real deal if I saw it around at any point.
Eyes & Brows
I decided that I didn’t want anything too dramatic for the week of minimal makeup so I stuck with the Essence Make Me Brow in Blondy Brows. This is a tinted brow gel which I can brush through my brows to give them a bit of something without being too high maintenance. I had to stick with my Urban Decay Primer Potion as an eye primer (which I’m almost out of *sob*), and I decided on my trusty Lorac Pro Palette for eye shadow. I just find the Lorac palette to be one of the most versatile out of all my palettes, without it being too bulky. Other eye products I settled on were the Seventeen Long Lash*, the L’Oreal Super Liner in Perfect Slim, and the Bourjois Kohl & Contour Eyeliner Pencil.
Face & Lips
I’ve been using my Soap & Glory Solar Powder Bronzer more and more now summer is on it’s way (or at least should be, I mean come on England make your mind up already), and I love this as I can swirl the two shades together to give a nice healthy glow or just use the dark matte shade for contour. I’ve been loving the Too Faced Blush in Love Hangover which I bought from Chloe on Depop, as it is gives the perfect summer glow and is beautifully buildable. My highlight of choice of course had to be Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Pop, which I’ve been loving for the last couple of weeks. It’s the most beautiful highlight and worth every single penny. As I use a lot of powder products, MAC Fix+ is a must for me. It just makes everything look like little bit less cakey and a little bit more natural. I’ve not really had the need to use a setting spray recently so this is definitely my go to. The one and only lip product I was using (I know – JUST ONE) was the Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lip Colour in Seduction. It’s one of the most comfortable liquid lipsticks that I’ve ever worn and it’s one of those really flattering nudes on everyone.
As much as I almost enjoyed having to switch up my makeup look just with one set of products, I’m so excited that I have all my makeup back again and I can start experimenting again!
