Beauty, Makeup, Wish List

My Makeup Wishlist: Spring 2017

My Makeup Wishlist: Spring 2017 | Essential Twenty

I’ve not bought any new makeup since February. FEBRUARY. So I need some new makeup in my life, and I’ve been putting together a wish list in a similar vain to my recent skincare wishlist. Whilst there are very few new products, there are a lot of cult favourites that I’m still yet to try!

First thing on my wishlist is the Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder. I’ve been getting my way through the drugstore setting powders to set my undereye concealer, but they’re all lacking something. If literally everybody is raving about this particular setting powder, there’s got to be a reason! £29 is a lot to spend on a product that I can’t sample, but I’m very tempted.

I am obsessed with the Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipsticks, and have spoken about them a lot. The new spring shades are to die for, and I’ve definitely got my eye on the Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Biscotti – a gorgeous taupe brown.

I also need more Charlotte Tilbury in my life. I have previously review the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Very Victoria, and now I’m dying to try some more! I’ve been weighing up my choices, and I think the lipstick I’m tempted by the most at the moment is the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Bond Girl. I’m actually quite surprised that I’ve only got two lipsticks on my wish list but to be honest, I wear a lot of the same lipsticks at the moment for work and therefore don’t feel like I need a ton right now. Did I really just type that?

Another much loved product amongst the beauty community is the Nars Sheer Glow Foundation. I’ve never bought a high end foundation – I’m shocked too! Similar to Nars Sheer Glow in the way it is loved by so many, is YSL Touche Eclat Foundation. Whilst I used to love a matte finish on my skin, I like to go for a more glowy base now. And that’s why I’m also after the Becca Backlight Priming Filter; another dewy base product. Maybe it’s because I’m getting older, but I’m not necessarily about a flawless base. I want it to look natural, rather than heavily concealed.

Moving on from base, but still about the face, I’ve been eyeing up the Pixi Aspyn Ovard Glow-y Powder in London Lustre. I don’t actually wear a lot of highlight anymore, but this looks just subtle enough for me to wear every day, and it’s not ridiculously expensive! I think £14 for 10g of product is definitely a bargain.

The other face product I’m after is the Kevyn Aucoin Sculpting Powder, although I’m not sure quite which shade. I quite often go for the lighter shade, but sometimes it’s easier to go for a medium and use a lighter hand. Can you tell I’m already out of the makeup loop after three months of not buying anything?

love Benefit Blushes, and now that they’ve brought out the new Galifornia Blush, I need this in my collection too. It’s the most beautiful blush shade for spring and summer, with a light glow, aka my favourite type of blush! I don’t own anything like it so it’s a definite must add.

The final two products I’ve got my eye on are both eyeshadow palettes. I love both of these brands and I’m always looking to expand my collection of these shadows, which is why they’re on my list. The first is the Urban Decay Afterdark Eyeshadow Palette, which I swatched in the King’s Cross store recently. I’m a huge fan of Urban Decay Shadows, and this reminds me of a more pigmented version of the Moondust Palette. This is the perfect night out palette!

The second palette I’m desperate to try is the Zoeva Caramel Melange palette. I love the Cocoa Blend palette, and this is an extension of this collection. With Cocoa Blend being my all time favourite palette, it seems daft not to own this one too!

There are a few bits from Too Faced and Tarte that I’m dying to try too, but I didn’t want to go overboard! What’s on your makeup wishlist right now?  And have you tried any of the products on my list? I’d love to hear your thoughts.
