A Little Drugstore Haul

On Monday, I nipped into town before work to pick up my £1 Meal Deal from Boots, thanks to O2, and also thought I should restock on my Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in Transparent. Naturally, this lead to a few more purchases and a cheeky trip to Superdrug too, so I thought it’d be nice to write a post detailing what I bought. Yes, a little drugstore haul ensued!

Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in 001 Transparent This is my third purchase of this powder, which means I must love it. At £3.99, this is a steal and keeps the shine on my face to a minimum. I also have this is 002 Pink Blossom (of which I’m on my fourth pan) for days when I have good skin and don’t need the coverage of a foundation. I could talk about Rimmel’s Stay Matte Powder all day, but I’m sure most people reading this post will already be fully aware of how great it is, and if not, you’re seriously missing out. This is a product that always appears in any drugstore haul I do, so it’s not a surprise that I popped it in.

Rimmel Brow This Way Brow Styling Gel in 004 Clear My brows do not require a lot of taming (luckily) so I don’t see the need to spend a lot of money on eyebrow products. The brush is quite big on this, so probably not good if you want to be precise (works fine for the clear gel, but I could imagine that this would be slightly troublesome if you used one of the coloured gels). After getting through one tube of this, I’ve learnt how to control it and am able to set my brows without it drying crispy. This also retails for £3.99, like the Stay Matte Powder, and Rimmel Products are currently on a buy one get one half price offer in Boots.

MUA Bronzed Perfection I’ve been looking at a number of dupes recently, and this popped up as a really good dupe in this post for Nars Laguna which is one of my favourite bronzers, but requires quite a lot of money just for some bronzer. Unlike a lot of drugstore bronzers, it isn’t overly orange and with a light hand, it’s probably quite a good contour colour. It’s got a clay-like smell, and seems much more shimmery but less pigmented than Laguna, but at £3 in Superdrug for almost twice the amount (the pan it’s in is bigger than my palm – it’s absolute huge), it wouldn’t even have to be the best dupe in the world for me to love it, provided the pigment can be built up well. Don’t worry; it isn’t as dark as it looks of the Superdrug website.

Maxfactor Colour Elixir Lip Liner in 06 Mauve Moment Adrienne posted about the Maxfactor Lip Liners towards the end of last week as they are a good dupe for the Charlotte Tilbury Lip Liners, and the post caught my eye. When I wandered into Superdrug at the beginning of the week, this particular shade really stood out to me and I had to buy it. Swatching it, it seems super creamy and I really hope it feels the same on the lips. For £4.99, I’m impressed so far! I’m not even sure I have any lipsticks that go with this too well, but I’m sure I can find myself a new lipstick to match.

Sleek Matte Me Matte Lip Cream in 436 Birthday Suit I’ve been wanting to buy this for absolutely ages, but it’s always sold out everywhere I go, or I’ll be on a spending ban when I do spot in in stock. Today was no exception really, as Superdrug didn’t have this shade in stock. Luckily for me, Boots did. From swatches, I know that it doesn’t budge off the skin (even cleansers struggle to get it off without a bit of scrubbing), so I’m hoping that on the lips it’ll be fairly similar. And if that’s the case, it’s a bargain for £4.99. I’d love for it to stay on all day without needing to touch it up. I’ve been dying to put this in a drugstore haul for ages, and I’ve finally had the chance!

MUA Lipstick in Coral Flush I am not at all brave when it comes to lip colours, but I’m trying to change. In fact, this is probably too much all in one go, but at £1 it’s not like I’ll be wasting my money if I’m too scared to wear it. This is a gorgeous orange-toned red, and is very smooth when it comes to application. I love the MUA lipstick in Shade 11 and this seems to be the same consistency so I’m excited to give it a go, even if just in private for a while.

Makeup Revolution Ultra Blush Palette in Golden Sugar How gorgeous are these shades? I’ve never tried anything from Makeup Revolution as the Superdrug in my university town is pants and takes absolutely ages to stock products, and the Superdrug in my home town took a while to get Makeup Revolution in. Seeing it stocked when I was having a little drugstore haul moment, I had to treat myself. In this palette, there are some gorgeous highlight shades (two on the top left), a few blush shades and a few bronzer shades. The bronzer shades are much too shimmery for contour, but I’m hoping that they might work well as eyeshadow shades. They don’t seem too highly pigmented, but like to MUA Bronzer, I’m hoping that I can build them up if necessary. I’m not sure how wearable all of these shades will be, but for £6 I won’t be complaining if I only find a use for a couple of these shades.

I’m planning to write a follow up post in a month or so after I’ve used these products for a good amount of time, so make sure you look out for that. I haven’t treated myself to new makeup in a while so I was so excited to get these home, and I’ve really enjoyed writing this post. Don’t you just love a drugstore haul?

What products are you looking to try from the drugstore? And what products do I need to get my hands on next?
