I’ve seriously been slacking on my skincare routine recently. I was so good in the summer but the time my skin needs the most TLC, these cooler months, is the time I neglect it most. I blame the dark evenings! I get in from work and want to go straight to bed, so I just sort of forget my skincare routine. Of course I take my makeup off, and I always (usually) moisturise, but the rest of my skincare routine is currently slacking. Maybe that can be my February resolution – to get it back on track. I do always remove my makeup though, and I’ve recently been getting through the Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cleanser* as my daily cleanser, and I’m pretty impressed!
I used to be a huge fan of the morning shower, but now I have to be out of the house before 7:30am I’m an evening shower girl. The Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cleanser* has sort of taken the place of face wash in my shower and it does a great job of makeup removal. Actually, all liquid cleansers have taken the place of a face wash in my shower and I hope no skincare junkie is going to shout at me for this because they’re basically the same things, right?
The cleanser is very gentle, yet it is effective. It removes most makeup except for mascara (and I tend to do a quick eye makeup remover before my shower anyway, or I end up with panda eyes that are a pain to get rid of), and I wouldn’t suggest trying. I did try, and my eye stung, so I didn’t try it again – not worth it. Disclaimer: it does say not use on the sensitive eye area but I obviously ignored that and regretted it instantly.
This isn’t a deep cleansing product, so if your skin needs some real TLC this probably isn’t for you. But as an every day cleanser this does a stand up job. For £8.50 for the travel size (75ml) and £15 for the full size (150ml), it’s definitely worth a purchase as it seems to last forever. I reckon I’m about halfway through in around two months of use so it’s definitely worth a look at.
My Kiehl’s collection has slowly been building, and I can’t wait to try out a few more because I’ve been so impressed with the majority. The Ultra Facial Overnight Hydrating Masque* is one of my absolute favourite masks and I can’t recommend it more (see my full review here), and these two products have got me lusting after the Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado, the Midnight Recovery Concentrate and the Ultra Facial Cream…although I should wait until I’ve got through my monster skincare stash!
