It may be my most expensive bronzer purchase, but is this my favourite? Nars Laguna is my one and only Space NK purchase to date, and it’s not a purchase I regret. I reach for this almost daily but is it worth the £27.50 price tag?
I bought this because it was a cult favourite, but do I keep using it because of that or because I truly love it?
I’m definitely one for getting lost in the hype of products, and when I really got into makeup a couple of years ago this was all that I wanted. I went through a bronzer stage where I wanted all of the bronzers on the market, and I couldn’t decide whether I wanted Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess or Nars Laguna first. I went Nars.
Nars Laguna is a bronzer that I use more regularly than my favourite drugstore bronzer (Soap & Glory Solar Powder), but sometimes I think it’s because it needs the use since it cost so damn much. Laguna is a mid-toned ash bronzer which makes for a great contour shade on even the palest of skintones, but it can also be used a great all over bronzer. It’s sheer enough for pale girls like me but is buildable for darker skin tones. Even on a ‘no contour’ day, this bronzer is fab for sweeping in a 3 shape over my forehead, cheeks and jawline for an all-over glow.
There is a slight sheen to Laguna but not in a chunky glitter way, but more of a illuminating/highlight way. It’s just matte enough to allow for a contour but illuminating enough for a beautiful summer glow. It’s definitely a warmer shade, more appropriate from spring/summer.
I completely understand why this is many people’s holy grail bronzer because it’s just so wearable. I can tell I’m getting close to hitting pan on this and I definitely think I’ll be repurchasing it when it runs out. However, I understand that it’s got a pretty hefty price tag (even for me it’s way more than I would normally spend) and I’m not sure it’s worth what it costs, compared to Solar powder priced at less than half of Laguna. You’re definitely paying for the sleek packaging and the name with Laguna, but I personally think it’s a bronzer everybody should have in their collection.
