If All My Makeup Disappeared…

Imagine all your makeup just vanishing. Think about it. Now wipe those tears and think about what you would replace straight away. Basically that’s what today’s post is. It’s the ‘If all my makeup disappeared’ tag. It’s actually surprising that it didn’t take me long to decide but I guess that’s because you have your favourites and these are mine.

Base
For my base, I would have to have a primer as my pores just eat up any makeup on my face. Although I switch up my primers fairly regularly, I think my first purchase would have to be Benefit The Porefessional as it really does lock my makeup in place all day like no others I’ve ever tried. Funnily enough, I wouldn’t repurchase one of my favourite concealers as it only does one job. I would actually repurchase Rimmel Wake Me Up as it works as an all-round concealer. My two favourite concealers are both brightening ones, and that just draws attention to the fact that you concealed a blemish, whereas this works as to conceal spots as well as cover my dark circles. My last base product would have to be my trusty little Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in Pink Blossom as I used this religiously for years before I started wearing proper foundation. I still use this if my skin doesn’t need full coverage, as I love a matte finish (I always powder with the transparent shade after applying foundation anyway).

Eyes
If my eye makeup got lost I would actually cry. My eye shadows are my babies and my liners are my besties. When I was younger, I only wore eye makeup (my Collection 2000 green eyeshadow was the love of my life for a very long time) and a bit of concealer so I’ve been collecting for quite some time. In terms of eyeliner, I’d have to go for Bourjois Kohl & Contour in Brun Design, as I’d start my everyday stock going first. This is the eyeliner I have been reaching for (although always in black until last year) for about 8 years, and if that’s not a testament to a product, I don’t know what is. The brown liner is a lot less harsh, so this would be my eye liner pick. For mascara, I’d repurchase the Bourjois Volume One Seconde as I just get on so well with it, besides the smell. It does exactly what I want a mascara to do, and that’s why this would have to be my first mascara rebuy. I wouldn’t buy an eye primer because the first eyeshadow I’d buy would be a cream shadow which doesn’t crease on my anyway, and that’s the Maybelline Colour Tattoo in On & On Bronze. This is just the most perfect everyday eyeshadow which can be dressed up or down, and I wouldn’t want to be without it for too long. Although my eyebrows look 1000 times better when they’re done, they’re not so awful that I’d have to do them daily so I’d save repurchasing any brow kits and the like for when the no-more-than-ten-products thing ends.

Face & Lips
I think face products are essential because they give your face some dimension, instead of a flat look. I wouldn’t have enough products to buy a separate contour and bronze so I think I’d have to go for Soap & Glory Solar Powder to do both jobs. This has been my favourite bronzer for well over a year now and I can’t see it going anywhere anytime soon. For highlighter, I’d have to go for a recent purchase of mine and that’s TheBalm Mary-Lou Manizer. In no way is this a subtle highlight, but it’s too gorgeous not to have in my life. It definitely requires a gentle hand in order to make it look like you haven’t just thrown glitter at your face, but it’s worth the time it takes to apply. My last face product would be Topshop Do It Again Blush which I find very difficult to describe to people. I suppose it’s not too dissimilar to Nars Orgasm, but less pink and more gold. It leaves a nice coral flush on the skin which is absolutely beautiful. The final product of my ten would have to be a lip colour to bring the look together, and I think it would have to be MAC Velvet Teddy. Like Mary-Lou Manizer, this bad boy hasn’t been in my life all that long, but I love it. I wear it most days and I don’t think I could go back to not having it in my collection.

And there you have it; the makeup I would have to replace in a heartbeat and will cry if any of them are every discontinued. Now I’m going to have to go tell the rest of my makeup that I love it and would definitely buy all that as well.
