Apart from makeup and stationery, homeware is my favourite thing to shop for. I don’t have the space or the budget for most of what I want, but a girl can dream. My favourite things to look at are decorative features, furniture (I don’t need any furniture apart from a chest of drawers right now), and kitchenware. This post is combination of things I’ve seen in store, on people’s blogs and when I’ve been browsing the online shops. My favourite places to trawl through the internet on a hunt for homeware is NEXT, Oliver Bonas, Urban Outfitters, H&M, and Zara, but I love going into Wilkinsons, Primark, TK Maxx and various supermarkets to look at more budget friendly options.
Yes, yes, yes, I have fallen in love with the copper trend like everyone else. However, let’s just all bask in the glory that there are no marble products. It doesn’t mean I don’t think they’re pretty, they’re just not at the top of my wish list.
Wild & Free Plaque (Asda, £4) – Double Duvet Set (H&M, £39.99) – Large Jar Yankee Candle in Vanilla Cupcake (Yankee Candle, £21.99) – Copper Kitchen Aid (Selfridges, £615) – Bird Cushion (Wilko, £7) – Table Mirror (Ikea, £15) – Bronze Floor Lamp (Ikea, £39) – Copper Wire Recipe Stand (Oliver Bonas, £22) – Copper Effect Cutlery Set (NEXT, £32) – Chevron Drawers (Asda, £10)
I feel like I need to explain a few of these, because some may see like odd things to put in. The Wild & Free plaque is something I spotted on the ASDA Website, and I thought it was so cute and a great reminder to be who I want to be to be the best I can be. The Yankee Candle is on there because every time I see it, I smell it and am so close to buying it. I’m just yet to do so because I want to use up some of the candles I have. The copper effect cutlery set is something I spotted in NEXT a few weeks ago and the pieces are absolutely beautiful in person (not the weird brown colour the photo on the website makes them appear). The chevron drawers have been on my radar for a while now, and I want some small drawers to store hair ties, grips, non-makeup brush makeup tools etc in. I’m yet to find something that I really want, but this is up there on my list.
I’m thinking about writing a Christmas Homeware Wishlist closer to the season, as Christmas is my favourite time of year, and there are some gorgeous festive bits around every year which I lust over. Although living on my own means I can decorate however I want so I might go completely mad with it.
What homeware items are on your wish list? Or do you steer clear of the homeware stores in favour of other things?
