For an entire week now, I’ve been trying to think about what I’m going to write for my first blog post. And it’s been bloomin’ hard going.
All the basics about me can be read about in my About section but I feel like I need to dive straight into blogging, otherwise I’ll never get around to it. So I’m going to start off with a very, very small haul.
You may or may not know that it’s been the Next Sale over the weekend and I picked up a couple of holiday items as I’m heading to America for three weeks at the end of August (excited doesn’t even begin to explain how I feel). I picked up a basic blue swimsuit as I don’t really own any, and I don’t need loads as we won’t be doing much lounging about by the pool and on the beach. Our holiday is going to be much more of a ‘doing’ holiday than a relaxing holiday. I actually have no idea how much the swimsuit cost but I can’t imagine it would’ve been too pricey otherwise I wouldn’t have bought it. I also picked up some gorgeous patterned trousers which I intend to wear on a cooler evening. I’ve been looking for something like this for a while, and when it was £16, down from £32, how could I refuse? I’m hoping to pick up some with an elasticated waistband for the plane as they will be comfy but also fairly stylish (you never know who you’ll spot in Heathrow Terminal 5).
My mum had something to return to Outfit, so I also nipped in there and bought a really simple orange vest top to go with the trousers. The trousers will pretty much go with any plain top but this vest top is a lot dressier than other ones that I already own. This top was £8, reduced from £12 and is from Dorothy Perkins.
Lastly, I got some sandals. I hate sandals and pretty much live in my Vans but I can’t go to LA and wear scruffy trainers all day. I bought some cheap flipflops from Sainsbury’s a couple of weeks ago (half price at £2.50) to throw on when we’re at our more casual stops, but I decided I needed some sandals suitable for the evening. The ones that I ended up with are from New Look and were reduced from £24.99 down to £12, so that’s a bargain in my eyes.
I don’t want to buy too many bits before I head out there as I intend of spending a lot of money in the States, but I will obviously need a few bits before I go. I’ll probably grab a few bits out of Primark before we head out in a month, but I thought I’d just show you what I’d bought recently.
Have you picked up any bargains in the summer sales?
I hope you enjoy your stay at my blog. Thanks for reading.
