It’s Friday, which means it’s Face Mask Friday. This week is only my second ever sheet mask review, and it’s all about the Mad Beauty Animasks Face Mask*. Whilst I often reach for masks because they sound like they’re going to nourish my skin, this mask is just a bit of fun. All will become clear with the photos.
The Animasks Face Mask is infused with cucumber to cool, revitalise, hydrate and moisturise skin, and this tiger design is one of three. The other designs are a dog and a panda, having different properties for other skin types (unfortunately the website does not state clearly what these are and I don’t want to just guess). The designs definitely make for a more fun experience than just a plain white one!
Like most sheet masks, you simply wash your face, put the mask over your face and remove after 10-15 minutes. What makes this one different is that you wash off the excess. I’m used to rubbing in any excess, and to me, washing off seemed like a waste of product. I also feel like I wouldn’t have got the full benefits of the product, however it just didn’t sink in (I did try to rub it in; it was just instinct). This made me question whether there were any true benefits to using this mask. My face didn’t feel nourished like when I used the Origins Sheet Mask which was definitely a disappointment as this mask isn’t that much cheaper than the Origins alternative. Yes, I would definitely rather spend £2 more to get something that feels like it will do something for my skin.
Sure it’s a fun mask for children when they want to try a sheet mask, but if you’re really into your skincare I wouldn’t give this a second look. My face feels no better for using it and I won’t be purchasing a second mask. Have you tried anything from Mad Beauty?
