Empties, September 2017 | Essential Twenty

I didn’t think I’d finished up that many beauty products this month until I pulled out the drawer I store them in last night. Oh boy, have I used up a lot of products! A few makeup products, the odd bit of haircare and a variety of other goodies. A lot of products I’ve used up before, or previously reviewed, so expect to see some favourites in this month’s empties post!

In terms of skincare, I’ve finished up three items, two are those I’ve repurchased and all of which I’ve reviewed. I don’t need to say that I’m a big fan of the Pixi Glow Tonic, and it’s been one of my absolute favourite toners for a good couple of years. I don’t even need to answer the question if I’ll repurchase this as I already have on multiple occasions, and will continue to do so.

The other product that I’ve used up before, in fact I used up a travel size bottle last month, is the Bioderma Micellar Solution. Again, it’s a product that I love (although I do think it’s expensive for what it is), and will repurchase if I see a good deal on it.

The final skincare item came in a set from Clinique, and the Clinique Pep-Start 2-in-1 Exfoliating Cleanser was one I’ve only just finished despite opening it two months ago when I went to Spain. It was gentle enough to use daily if I so wished, but I only tend to use physical exfoliators once a week. I don’t think I’ll be repurchasing it. The full size is £16.50 which is quite expensive for an exfoliator when the likes of Garnier will do the same.

I managed to use up three makeup products this month, and I’ll start with the product I’ll continue to repurchase until I find an alternative that works better. The Benefit Gimme Brow is my favourite to use, as it instantly makes your face look put together. It’s definitely a great product!

I loved the YSL Baby Doll Mascara, which I picked up during the January sales. I do have a full review of this mascara but with it being open for a while I thought it was time to say goodbye to it. I will 100% be repurchasing it. Okay it’s £25, but it’s one of the best mascaras I’ve ever used!

The final makeup product I’ve finished up this month is the Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation. Another product that I’ve bought again and again, as it’s my favourite foundation to wear every day for work. I’ve nearly finished up another bottle of this because I forgot about this one being in my bronzer drawer every morning until after it was too late to apply it! I’ve already repurchased it, and will continue to do so.

I’ve used up two products from the L’Oreal Elvive Fibrology Air range this month, being the conditioner and the dry shampoo. The conditioner was nothing special, and the dry shampoo did very little unless I used a lot of it. I won’t be repurchasing these, or trying anything else from the range.

I seem to take ages to finish up shower gels, but I’ve used up one that’s been in my collection for a while. I love the limited edition Christmas scents from The Body Shop, with the apple ones being my favourite, and The Body Shop Spiced Apple Shower Gel, was a delight to use. Unfortunately I can’t repurchase this as it was limited edition and I remember reading somewhere that they’re not bringing an apple scent back this year.

The final product that went into my empties drawer this month was the This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray. Whilst the scent chilled me out, I don’t think it helped with my sleep. I don’t think I’ll be picking this up again because it’s quite expensive for what it is.

A mixed bag this month, with many favourites making an appearance. I don’t know if I’ll be keeping up with my empties posts now on but we’ll see how many bits get used up in October!
