Empties, August 2017

Empties, August 2017 | Essential Twenty

I know that I said I didn’t think I’d be posting an empties this month as I’ve been away for a couple of weeks and using other people’s products, but I’ve got a pretty full post today. Whilst there’s not makeup, I’ve got a few bits of hair and skincare, as well as a bubble bath and a perfume that I’ve used up. I’ve done well!

First up are the hair products. The Batiste Dry Shampoo has been a firm favourite of many for a long time, and until I discovered Colab Dry Shampoo and then the Tony & Guy Dry Shampoo I was in that camp too. I’ve had this bottle for a really long time but kept dismissing it until I actually ran out of what I had in my stash. Yes, this was fine but I much prefer other brands to Batiste. Will I Repurchase? No, probably not. I just prefer other dry shampoos and I’ve been putting off using this for a long time as it is.

The second hair product I’ve used up is the Toni & Guy Cleanse Shampoo For Fine Hair. I was expecting this to be a clarifying shampoo, but it’s just a regular one. It did make my hair feel clean, but it wasn’t any better than any other normal shampoos I often purchase and repurchase. Will I Repurchase? If I was it on offer then possibly, but I won’t be going out of my way to pick it up.

Onto skincare and I’ve used up two products that are repurchases. First up is the Biorderma Sensibio H2O Micelle Solution* which I took to Spain and France with me. This is a pretty decent micellar water that removes all traces of makeup, but I’ve done a full review here if you’re interested on reading my true thoughts. Will I Repurchase? If I see it on offer, definitely. I’m very much regretting not picking up a bottle or two in France.

The Pixi Glow Tonic is my favourite toner. I know some people skip a toning step in their skincare routine but I never do. It’s a gentle acid which is easier to use than the cult products from The Ordinary which means I’ll always go back to it. Will I Repurchase? I already had a couple of back ups – I can’t help but love this stuff!

I’m really not fussy about bubble bath, mainly because I’m a little extravagant when I use it. A bottle doesn’t last me that long, so I don’t tend to spend a lot on it which is why when I saw the Imperial Leather Marshmallow Bath Cream for £1 I snapped it up. This wasn’t fantastic to be honest; it didn’t have an obvious scent and it didn’t give as many bubbles as I’d have hoped. Will I Repurchase? If I run out and it’s on offer then possibly, but maybe I’ll look for one that has a stronger scent.

The final product I’ve used up this month is my second bottle of Calvin Klein CK One Shock. It’s a lovely every day perfume that Jack bought me initially and I’m going to miss having it in my collection. Maybe I’ll try to get him to buy it for me again since it’s my birthday in October! Will I Repurchase? I never buy perfume for myself unless it’s on a particularly good deal but I’m very tempted to pick this up again if I see it.

So that’s this month’s empties, which is a longer post than last month’s! Hit me up with any empties posts you’ve put together recently as they’re definitely some of my favourites to read!
