Cream Eyeshadow Declutter, Summer 2017

Cream Eyeshadow Declutter | Essential Twenty

This is actually my final declutter post for a while. Most of what is left if going to take me a long time to decide what I want to keep and what I don’t (I have a lipstick problem, okay), and it’s no longer the summer. And with the cooler months drawing in I become a bit of a hoarder! So as we say goodbye to declutter posts, we’ll also say goodbye to my entire cream eyeshadow collection. Yes, the full thing!

I used to love cream eyeshadows, but I just haven’t used them in a long time and they’ve all dried up. Yes, I may repurchase some of these in the future but for now I’m saying goodbye to them all. It’s been difficult to bin some of my favourites but the time has come.

I’m finally saying goodbye to my first ever cream shadow, the Maybelline Colour Tattoo in On & On Bronze. I wore this to death and you can seen that I hit the bottom of the pot at one point. It’s probably been around a year since I last wore this shadow and out of all of them, this is the one that I would repurchase. This is a beautiful shadow that pulls together a look without any effort at all! I’m also passing on two other Maybelline Colour Tattoo cream shadows: Pink Gold and Barely Beige. It’s been a while since I’ve worn either of these and they’ve just dried out. No point in keeping old products right?

The other three shadows I’m getting rid of come from a variety of brands. The oldest shadow I’m passing on is the MAC Paint Pot in Camel Coat. I was fortunate enough to pick this up at a Cosmetics Company Outlet and did use it a lot as an eyeshadow base when I picked it up. It’s still got some use, but it’s a good three years old and I probably shouldn’t be putting it too close to my eyes!

The second shadow is the Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow in Birthday Suit. This was a well raved about product a few years back but whenever I used this, I found the pigment was lacking. After a couple of hours it had all faded and honestly it just wasn’t worth using.

The final cream shadow I’m saying goodbye to is the Tropic Cream Highlighter in Spotlight*. Whilst this is sold as a highlighter, it’s a shade I’d never use on my cheeks – it’s just far too pink! Unfortunately after owning it for just a few months it has almost dried up so I’ll never reach for it. I love other Tropic products, but this is one I just have to declutter.

I still have a load of cream shadow sticks, but pot shadows are no longer in my collection thanks to this sort out and declutter. As I said, this is my last declutter post for the time being although I may post them on the odd occassion that I feel the need to clear out my stash again. See ya cream shadows, you’ve been fun.
