I don’t feel like I’ve spoken a lot about beauty recently, and that’s where my blogging roots lie. I personally am not in a place where I want to spend a small fortune on new beauty products and have been getting through some of my old products. But with Christmas coming up, I can always ask for someone to gift me some beauty sets, so I’ve created this Christmas Beauty Gift wish list (one of only two wish lists this blogmas series) to share what I think is worth picking up this season.
I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the Sleek Matte Me Must Have kits so have already treated myself to both sets (and then sent them to the wrong Boots store so collected them far later than I had planned), so whilst they were on my wish list, I no longer need them. But I wanted to share these with you as I think they’re wonderful for £6 a piece, and included in Boots’ 3 for 2 offer. 4 mini liquid lipsticks for £6 a piece? You know I was game! There is a normal matte collection available containing the shades Birthday Suit, Rioja Red, Velvet Slipper & Old Hollywood, and a metallic matte collection which holds the shades Shabby Chic & Vino Tinto in the original matte formula, and the metallic shades Rusted Rose & Volcanic. I always have Birthday Suit and Vino Tinto in full sizes, but these will make great stocking fillers for other people. Or maybe I will keep them since my Birthday Suit is definitely out of date.
Whilst I love Soap & Glory, their Christmas beauty gift sets are a little predictable. Every year it’s the same repackaged products and it’s starting to get a little boring. I actually own all the bits I really want from them, but I would be interested in trying the Soap & Glory Wash Upon A Star. They’re expensive at £8.50 for 9 pods since they’re just shower gel, but they’ll be great for travelling when I want a bit of a pamper. And bonus, these are also included in the Boots 3 for 2 deal!
L’Occitane are a brand that my mum really loves, and so do I (she treated me to the advent calendar this year)! I absolutely love the L’Occitane Festive Cracker Trio, and this would make a brilliant gift for someone who either loves the brand or wants to try more from it. At £28, this can also be split down into three separate gifts around the £10 mark (each containing 3 miniatures). Perfect for Secret Santa and little stocking fillers! I personally love the Amande range, and one of the crackers is filled with these goodies. I’ve definitely got my eye on this, and if I’m not gifted it then it’ll have to be a Boxing Day sale purchase!
The only Charlotte Tilbury product I’ve ever tried is the odd sample, and the Matte Revolution lipstick in Very Victoria. The price for most of her products is a bit out of my budget, but despite the heft price point, I’ve got my eye on the Charlotte Tilbury The Gift of Goddess Skin. This is a set contains travel size versions of the iconic Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream, as well as the Wonderglow and the Goddess Skin Clay Mask. Basically I’m obsessed and I need it stat!
Kiehl’s is a brand that I’ve tried bits and pieces from, but very few of their cult classics. The Kiehl’s Skincare Gift Set is a whopping £49, but contains some of their best loved products. Honestly, I just want to try the Midnight Recovery Concentrate which is included in this set alongside the Ultra Facial Cleanser, Ultra Facial Cream and a miniature of the Daily Reviving Concentrate. Kiehl’s has been on my radar for so long and I definitely need to get trying more products from them.
I love Kat Von D Lolita so much for this time of year, so when I spotted the Kat Von D Lolita Obsession on the Debenham’s website last month I should’ve popped it in my basket. It retails for £100 so I know nobody will be buying it for me, but it’s a dream I can have. 3 lip liners, 2 liquid lipsticks, a classic lipstick and a blush? Gimme! This would definitely be the Christmas beauty gift of dreams.
As I’ve said, I’m just not really talking much about beauty at the moment, and I think that’s because I’m not reading about it. I’m too busy doing puzzles and eating my weight in pringles to read about it, but I’ve got a few favourite Christmas beauty gift guides that I’ve seen about the blogosphere that I’d like to share with you.
Day 3 of blogmas done and dusted, and tomorrow I’m getting into the gift guides. Don’t worry, I only have two this year and I’ve tried to make them pretty universal rather than throwing a load of unrelated press samples in a post. I’m trying to do something traditional blogmas without boring you this year!
