I own a lot of makeup. A lot. But I don’t tend to splurge on super high end products all that often, because some of the mid-range products do the trick for me. I’m particularly cautious when it comes to lip products because I have £5 products that I adore, and a £26 product which is pants…and I know which one I’d rather lose and repurchase.
But am I a real blogger if I’ve never tried anything from Charlotte Tilbury? I don’t think so! So a couple of weeks ago I treated myself to the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Very Victoria as I love a brown lipsticks. Give me all the browns.
The packaging screams luxury, and I’d expect it to at £23! I love the engraving of Charlotte Tilbury around the top of the packaging and it’ll sit beautifully by my lone YSL lipstick (the aforementioned pants lipstick, but I can’t bring myself to chuck it).
I went for Very Victoria as it is a mid-toned brown/grey lipstick which isn’t as similar to other lipsticks in my stash (despite thinking it would be for ages before biting the bullet and researching properly before I bought it). The grey tone pulls pink, making it a very easy shade to wear as opposed to some of the very brown shades I own. This can be worn without lip liner too which is a real bonus in my eyes because I hate the extra step. And another bonus? It is matte. We all know that around these parts I’m all about the matte lip because I’m lazy and hate topping up, but unlike a lot of mattes that can be a little drying, this is definitely hydrating and a little more balmy than a number of matte lipsticks on the market. It is important to bear in mind that because this is a balmy product it doesn’t last ages, but it does the job. This one gets a big thumbs up from me.
Have you tried any Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks? I’d love to know what you think of them! I’ve definitely got my eyes on Glastonberry, Birkin Brown & Bond Girl to pick up in the New Year.
