Every few months I have a cull of who I’m following on social media. I know this is a little suspect of late as people think that it’s playing the follow/unfollow game. Or making it look like we’re boosting our follower count in comparison to who we follow (it’s much impressive to see someone follow 500 people with 5000 followers as opposed to following 4000 people with 5000 followers). But there’s a reason that I no longer feel guilty for unfollowing people.
Okay, so you probably haven’t noticed but I took an accidental break from blogging for the past week. It’s not been a long break, but it’s been a necessary break. Blogger burnout is real and whilst I’ve never experienced it first hand, I’m pretty sure I can say that I sort of know how to beat it.
Last weekend I took my monthly trip to Yorkshire. But instead of spending the weekend with Jack, I took the regular journey to Leeds for the IceLolly.com Blog At The Beach Event. I actually went to a similar last summer and came out so inspired that my blog took a new turn over the the following months. Well this time, I’m writing about my new found inspiration, what I learnt and where I’m hoping my blog will go from here.
Around September time, I said to myself I wanted to a watch a Christmas film every day in December. A very easy challenge for myself. When Christmas 24 launched, I couldn’t actually wait until December so I have watched more than this, but since a sick day at the back end of November meant I started my Christmas movie watch a few days early. But this was okay since I had a few days out meaning I was too busy to watch.
Christmas is in two days, this is not a drill. Seriously guys, THE BIG DAY IS ALMOST HERE!
There’s something about Christmas that means I want to be joyful and share the love. This year there have been some cracking festive posts (not all from people taking part in blogmas), and I want to share these with you. And if you don’t get around to reading all these posts today, it’s a really chill way to spend Christmas Eve, right? Without further ado, here is a list I’ve compiled of my favourite blogmas posts of 2017.
Christmas Day is nearly here, which means Boxing Day is just one step behind. Last year I went a bit mad in the Boxing Day Sales but I managed to pick up a tip or two when I was spending all my December pay on makeup. Need Boxing Day sales tips? I’m your lady. And are you still Christmas shopping? Check out my Christmas shopping tips post.
