Boots Essentials Eye Makeup Remover Gel

Boots Essentials Eye Makeup Remover Gel | Essential Twenty

I’m quite fussy with eye makeup remover. I don’t like oil based removers, I don’t like cream based removers and I don’t like products that mean I have to scrub at my eyes. Okay, I say I’m fussy but I don’t think that’s too much to ask! Having sensitive eyes, I’m a bit wary of trying out new eye makeup removers other than the one from Simple, but recently I picked up the Boots Essentials Eye Makeup Remover Gel to try out.

Being a cucumber product, it’s suitable for all skin types but great for sensitive eyes, without having too much of a scent. The gel is soothing, cooling and doesn’t irritate my eyes which is a huge bonus. Another issue I have with eye makeup removers is that they leave a residue after wiping away, but this doesn’t gel remover doesn’t have this problem.

To use this, I gently work the eye makeup remover into my lashes and leave for a few seconds before wiping with a cotton pad (you can find out my recommended cotton pads in my easily forgotten beauty essentials post). I wouldn’t necessarily recommend this for waterproof mascara but it pretty good for a standard mascara.

At £1.50 for a bottle, it’s definitely worth trying out. Next time I can’t pick up my favourite eye makeup remover from Simple (since it’s often out of stock when I head into Boots), I’ll definitely consider repurchasing this. This remover also pretty much always on offer with any other products from the Boots Essentials collection at 3 for £3. I couldn’t recommend the cucumber wipes from the range more – I use these for removing swatches on my arms and they do a great job!

Have you tried out any of the Boots Essentials skincare products? Personally I think they’re highly underrated on the whole and they definitely have some fantastic products in the range. Especially the cucumber collection!
