Hands up if you have a 9-5 job that means you’re on your feet most of the day? *Raises Hand* Unless you’re working in a shop, it’s not something that you find people doing very often but my line of work it’s mainly standing at a lab bench with occasional sit downs for a cup of tea. After 13 years of ballet lessons back in my prime (talking like I’m middle aged) and four months in this particular job, my feet are not too happy with me but I’ve definitely found the solution to supple feet. What an enchanting post…but hear me out.
I’m really lazy when it comes to body care. I go for as long as is reasonable without shaving, very rarely use body cream or exfoliators and hardly ever bother with fake tan. But this year that has to change! Yes, we’re a month in but I take a little bit of a push to get going so better late than never.
My feet are always the first sign that my body is tired. Forget eye bags, I’m talking dry heels. They’re not disgusting and cracked or anything (not that I’m going to take a photo for you to see – nobody needs that), they’re just very dry. And The Body Shop Peppermint Intensive Cooling Foot Rescue is an absolute angel when my feet need saving. The packaging has changed since I picked mine up last summer, but nevertheless it has done me a world of good.
Particularly luxurious on a hot day, this foot cream smoothes and hydrates everywhere it touches and works overnight to leave supple heels. Definitely what I’ve been needing since being in this new job! At £9.50 for 100ml, it isn’t cheap. Per 100ml it comes just a couple of pounds cheaper than my mum’s favourite from L’Occitane, but it believe me it’s worth it.
During winter I generously apply the cream in the evening then wear cotton socks overnight to allow the cream to soak in. In the summer I tend to apply an even thicker layer around an hour before I go to bed and cover with cotton socks, then take them off before I head off to sleep. And you’ve just got to believe me that it works! I mean, would I be writing a full post on foot cream of all products if I didn’t think it was that good?
The Body Shop always have incredible offers on in store, with up to 40% off at various points through the year. Definitely worth a look in next time you wander by to pick up this foot saviour! And if your feet need some extra TLC, there is also a collection of scrubs and soaks for you to really treat your feet. I’m definitely checking them out this summer.
