Back in 2015, I fell in love with Benefit Dallas. The perfect mix of blush and bronzer – a natural winter flush – I needed it. The summer of that year I spent 3 weeks in America and had this wild plan of picking up the Dallas blush whilst I was in Dallas. Well, that didn’t happen, but when it was on offer on Feel Unique, along with me having £3.95 off from a Pick N Mix order I was hardly going to stop myself.
Whilst the packaging and brush do absolutely nothing for me (the packaging makes it a bit of a pain to fit my favourite blush brush in without picking up too much product, and the brush it comes with is not a great shape for blush application), the blush itself is beautiful.
The shade is the perfect combination of bronze, rose, and mauve, with a slight sheen running through it – just enough to stop the blush from being matte. On slightly deeper skin tones this blush would work beautifully as a bronzer, as well as a blush, but I’m a little pale for that.
Dallas is easily buildable and is a lot easier to work with that the other Benefit blushes. It’s more buttery and is one of the most neutral blushes I own – perfect for every day, or every day that I wear blush.
Okay, so I’m not totally sure it’s worth the price, especially now that the price has gone up from £23.50 (which I refused to pay for in the first place) to £24.50. Sure, it’s only £1 but that money could go towards something else. Like the cookbooks that I’m addicted to buying at the moment.
Despite not wearing blush a lot recently, this has been one of my go-to products along with Nars Sin. On a day when my makeup is already looking a little heavy handed I go for Dallas rather than Sin as the latter requires a really light hand. Either way, it’s been beautiful as a blush for the months that has passed and I’m hoping that as I start tanning (fake tan more than the real deal) it’ll be a stunning bronzer.
Have you tried Dallas? Or is another Benefit blush your fave?
