It feels like a long, long time since I wrote a beauty post but that’s because I’ve not been buying makeup and beauty products and have been using up old favourites instead. However, I decided I deserved a little treat and bought myself a few goodies from KIKO and Boots.
I bought the few bits from KIKO when I was in Leeds visiting a friend last weekend and I picked up the bits from Boots at the start of the week in Huddersfield. I was so excited to get my hands on some of these because they’ve been on my wishlist for a while.
There was a sale in KIKO and I couldn’t not pick up a couple of bits for myself. I bought the Luscious Cream Lipstick in 520 (£3.40), the Infinity Eyeshadow in 210 (£2.80), and a Long Lasting Stick Eyeshadow in 05 (£3.40). I’ve actually tried all of these before but in different shades so I was excited to get some more shades of some of my favourite products. The eyeshadows are so gorgeous from KIKO (both powder and stick form) and I’ve heard wonderful things about the shade 05 of the stick form – a By Terry Ombre Blackstar Misty Rock dupe apparently.
I’ve been after the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet lip creams for a long time, and myself and Beka will be writing reviews on these soon. I picked up the shades Peach Club and Grand Cru. I actually wanted Beau Brun but it is sold out everywhere (are they discontinuing it?) so I stuck with these two. These were buy one get one half price and cost £8.99 each before the offer. I also bought the Collection Gorgeous Glow Blush Block which was only £2.99. I’ve been eyeing it up for a while and so many people have compared it to the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Bricks, and at £2.99 it hardly broke the bank.
On first impressions, the KIKO products glide on beautifully (I am truly in love with the lipstick and got some great complements on Wednesday when I wore it) but I’m a little bit disappointed in the Bourjois lip colours. They take a long time to dry for a liquid lipstick and they look nothing like their colour in the tube. I wore Grand Cru on Tuesday and it lasts quite a while but is a lot pinker on my lips than I thought it would be after having swatched these so many times. I think Peach Club is a definitely the bigger disappointment on drying. It’s much more orange than I had realised so I’m not sure how much wear I’ll get out of it, but I’ll definitely try to find a use for it! It’s definitely not the right colour for this time of year, but I’ll try it out again in the summer.
Have you tried any of these products? Or are you dying to?
